Membership at Crystal Ministries International
1.  What is expected of CMI Members?

Members at CMI are expected to show complete and explicit commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and to CMI as their local church. Their membership is a unique relationship between themselves and the church, in keeping with the teaching of the scriptures and the policies and procedures of CMI. It is also expected of our members to be actively involved in the three C's; CELLS (small groups)/ CONGREGATIONAL MEETINGS (once a month all cells gather for a full service in their respective areas) / CELEBRATIONS (Attend our Weekly Sunday Services)

2.   When should I or can I become a Participating Member?

There is not standard answer to this question. It depends on your desire to become part of a spiritual family of believers. It's up to your personal development and the relationship with Jesus Christ. And by expressing your commitment to Jesus Christ and to the Local Church (CMI). After attending the "Meet the Reverend" class you are well prepared to become a member of CMI.

3. How long before my membership is official.

By attending meet the reverend is the first process of officiating your membership. The "Meet the Reverend" event usually takes place on a Wednesday Evening at church, it is then followed by your official welcoming and the "right hand of fellowship" is extend to you on the Sunday morning during the service. You will now be introduced to the entire congregation (your new family of believers)

4. Do I have to attend "Meet The Reverend"?

Yes, it is an added bonus when you attend this special class with Reverend Carl and Ps. Joan Hendricks. You will gain insight into the workings and functions of Crystal Ministries International. You will hear first-hand the heart of the Visionary. You will meet the leadership of CMI and other potential members. The Vision, the basic doctrine and policies and procedures of CMI will be explained to you. You will also be afforded an opportunity to pose any questions you might have related to ministry, the leadership and vision of CMI.

5.   After my membership with CMI is official, do I have to be Leader?

Leadership at CMI is strongly encouraged, however in keeping with ourDestiny Vision under T - for train and equip leaders, you will have to attend and complete the Equipping Tracks. After successfully completing the entire course you will then be placed in the order of your gifting and talent.

6.   Do I have to be baptised in order to be a member?

Crystal Ministries International adheres to the scripture and doctrine of Water Baptism as prescribed in the Bible in Acts 2:41; 8:47-48. We believe that Water Baptism is always followed by salvation. We believe in total immersing into water.

7.   I was baptised as an infant. Why should I be baptised again?

Crystal Ministries recognises the right of other churches to practice infant baptism, however we believe that water baptism as taught in the Bible is the basis that qualifies believers to be baptised into water. Water Baptism does not confer salvation and we believe that salvation precedes water baptism. Baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Jesus and the subjection of the individual to His sovereignty and lordship. Water Baptism symbolises the spiritual cleansing through divine forgiveness and newness of the believer by virtue of their identification with Christ in His death and resurrection.

8.   Why should I give 10% or a tithe of my income to the church

The Old testament provides the basis for CMI to fully understand the principle that God instituted for His people to give back 10% of their income to Him - (Malachi 3:8-10, Gen 14:18-27). The New Testament also provides significant understanding of the principle of tithing, it is evident that the believers then had everything in common, and gave their resources as needed. Therefore we hold to the principle of tithes; giving a tenth of our income back to the local church.

9. What are the benefits for me, being a member of Crystal Ministries International?

  • The purpose of becoming a member at CMI is not to gain a personal advantage, but to identify with the characteristics of biblical maturity and commitment to the vision, the mission and the future of CMI.
  • It identifies a person as a genuine believer - (Eph 2:19; rom 12:5)
  • It provides a spiritual family to support and encourage you in your walk with Chrit - (Gal 6:1-2; Heb 10:24-25)
  • It gives you a place to discover and use your gifts in ministry. (1 Cor. 12:4-27)
  • It places you under the spiritual protection of Godly leaders. (Heb. 13:17; Acts 20:28-29)
  • It gives you the accountability to grow. (Eph 5:21)

10.   Do I have to renew my Membership annually?

Renewal of membership is not necessary for as long as you remain an active and committed member.
